Usui Reiki
Reiki (ray-key) means Universal Life Energy
Reiki is a safe body therapy technique that balances the body, mind and spirit, facilitating the healing of the whole person. Reiki involves the use of gentle, light touch applied to the body to transmit healing energy.
This healing art uses the same techniques practiced by the Lamas of ancient Tibet who originated this system thousands of years ago. It was re-discovered in the 1800's by Dr. Mikao Usui, who practiced REIKI in Japan. He passed the knowledge on to others who eventually brought it to Hawaii in 1937.

Relaxation Techniques
A Relaxation Technique is any method, process, procedure, or activity that helps a person to relax, to attain a state of increased calmness; or otherwise reduce levels of anxiety, stress or tension. Relaxation Techniques are often employed as one element of a wider stress management program and can decrease muscle tension, lower the blood pressure and slow heart and breath rates, among other health benefits.
Progressive Muscle Relaxation (or PMR). Also known as Gradual Muscle Relaxation (GMR), is a technique for reducing anxiety by alternately tensing and relaxing the muscles. Since muscular tension accompanies anxiety, one can reduce anxiety by learning how to relax the muscular tension.
Because of the feelings of warmth and heaviness are felt in the relaxed muscle after it is tensed, a mental relaxation is felt as a result. With practice, the patient learns how to effectively relax and deter anxiety when it gets to an unhealthy level where an anxiety attack would otherwise occur.
The relaxation procedure is effective against ulcers, insomnia and hypertension. Progressive Relaxation has remained popular with modern Physical Therapists.
